Vanderpump Rules alums Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney had a roller-coaster relationship during their time on the show. Despite Tom admitting to being unfaithful during a trip to Las Vegas, the pair ended up getting married, with Lisa Vanderpump as their officiant in Season 5. However, five seasons later, Katie pulled the plug on their marriage.
Katie and Tom have maintained an amicable relationship since divorcing in 2022. In fact, Tom once called them “the best divrocees ever” because they continued a friendship. Since their divorce, the reality TV stars have both moved on. While Katie has kept her relationship with Sleeping With Sirens musician Nick Martin under wraps, so has her ex-husband, who is dating a much younger woman named Sophia Skoro.

During a February appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Tom Schwartz teased that he was no longer single. “I would say I’m not not dating. I’m hanging out, it’s new, it’s exciting.” In the same interview, Tom said that he didn’t want to reveal who he was seeing. “I think she would prefer if I didn’t say.”
Although Tom and his girlfriend, who would be revealed to be a woman named Sophia Skoro, appeared in a joint interview on The Viall Files in April (which confirmed their romance), fans learned that the two had been growing close since Tom’s WWHL appearance. That same month, Tom’s girlfriend shared a fun four-second TikTok with the VPR alum. The following month, she posted another TikTok with the reality TV star.
During their appearance on Nick Viall’s podcast, the couple spoke about how they initially met. Tom had stated that he wasn’t really looking to date anyone, but fate seemed to have other plans.
“Yeah, we actually met on a whim at Tom Tom. And it’s funny, ironically, around that moment, I made a pledge, not only to myself, but to the universe, that I will not hang out or date. I’m just going to be single and work for the next two years, official. And then I bumped into her and I was just like…”
Later in the episode, Sophia admitted that she was the one to make the first move when she spotted him at his and Tom Sandoval’s West Hollywood restaurant, TomTom, in the summer of 2023.
“I was like, ‘He’s looking hot,’ so I just told him. I simply just told him, and that was it.”
Tom then gushed about meeting Sophia for the first time. “I was with Kyle Chan and I told him, ‘I just met the most beautiful human being I’ve ever laid eyes on,’ but I had no intentions of going back.’ And Kyle literally dragged me back to TomTom.”
The two also touched upon their age gap. Sophia is 18 years his junior, but it does not bother either of them. “Honestly, if I was a lecherous old man trolling bars, like, seeking out young women, I think that would feel gross. But we just kind of bumped into each other. We hit it off.”

Before Sophia joined Tom in their podcast interview, the VPR alum wanted to give his girlfriend a special shoutout. “Can I give a shout out to Sophia? One of the coolest human beings on planet earth, the baddest b**** alive. She is got this unconventional sense of humor. She’s sharp as hell. Super successful.”
Tom noted that Sophia was a vintage clothing collector and ran her own business called Shop Sosko. However, running her vintage clothing store isn’t her only profession. According to her LinkedIn, Sophia works at Publicis as a media planner for TikTok. Her job description notes:
“Serves as a campaign planner and strategist on the digital investment team for TikTok within the Zenith Agency. Constant collaboration with internal and external team members to develop and manage media plans. Executes media and advertising plans by monitoring spending, managing budgets, and analyzing data. Researches and recommends new media strategies and communicates with clients and potential partners.”
Her LinkedIn also revealed that she graduated from the University of Oregon with a bachelors degree in science in 2022. She appeared to move from Oregon to Los Angeles to work at Publicis.

Sadly, fans won’t get to see Tom and Sophia in Vanderpump Rules with the news that the show was getting a total reboot for Season 12. That meant that fans would never get to see scenes in which Tom’s ex-wife, Katie Maloney, might meet Sophia. However, Katie has spoken about Tom’s love life and given her insights on how she feels about her ex moving on.
In December 2023, the Something About Her sandwich shop owner shared on the Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe podcast that she wanted Tom to meet someone new. At the time, the pair were already separated for over a year. The pair were officially divorced in October 2022.
“I want him to date and to move on. Whether it’s serious or casual or whatever, I do want that for him and he seems to say over and over that he’s not interested in that and he doesn’t want that. And so, if he really doesn’t, then that’s fine. But, I don’t want it to be ’cause of me.”
In April, Katie appeared on the Everything Iconic with Danny Pellegrino podcast where she spoke about Tom and Sophia’s large gap.
“I do know that she’s young. And I’m not an ageist type person. I think if there’s a connection there, then that’s what’s most important. I mean, I think time will tell whether or not you’re a match for somebody. And sometimes age does become a factor,” Katie said.
In the aforementioned interview with Nick, Sophia did state that she had met Katie, but in passing.
And, although we won’t get to see Katie and Sophia interact on our TV screens, Tom is slated to appear in Season 2 of the VPR spinoff The Valley. It’s possible that Sophia will make an appearance.
