‘Vanderpump Rules’ Star Says She’s ‘Not Ready to Be Done’ With Reality TV
Lala Kent hopes that more reality TV will be in her future.
The former “Vanderpump Rules” star appeared on the December 31 episode of the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast and revealed that she hopes to follow a career path like that of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Kyle Richards.
When asked what would be “the end all, be all of reality television” for her, Kent told host Amanda Hirsch, “I mean, I think a Kyle Richards-type moment where she’s been on reality TV for so long and has other things happening.”
“She’s produced her own shows. She’s got her hands in so many other things that it’s not that she needs the ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,’ but she goes, she does it, she makes fabulous TV and I just feel like that would be something that I would want,” Kent added. “Like, I look up to her and I just, I’m not ready to be done with reality TV.”
“For me, it’s just like reality TV is like my heartbeat,” she further explained. “Like I get off on it. I’m obsessed. I enjoy being a part of it. I enjoy watching it. It’s like such a huge part of my life, reality television.”
Kent was a main cast member on “Vanderpump Rules” for six seasons. In November 2024, Bravo announced a complete reboot of the Emmy-nominated reality show with a new cast for season 12.
Lala Kent Said She Wants to Join ‘The Real Housewives’

Kent admitted that for now, she is happy for the break as she focuses on raising her daughters Ocean and Sosa. But in the past, she eyed a spot on “The Real Housewives” franchise. In 2020, she told People magazine that it “would be so much fun” to be a cast member of RHOBH.
When her then-fiancé Randall Emmett questioned that her reality TV career wouldn’t end with “Vanderpump Rules,” Kent informed him. ‘No, we keep going.”
“I’ve always loved ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,’” Kent added. “I think it’s epic. So, to be a part of something like that and having [a] ‘Vanderpump Rules’ starter kit as my training … yeah that’d be epic.”
But in January 2023, Kent admitted she didn’t have the lifestyle to hold a RHOBH diamond. “I hear this a lot and I don’t feel like my age would allow it right now and also I don’t think I have anything like super fabulous to show you,” the 34-year-old said on a January 2023 episode of her “Give Them Lala” podcast.” “Like ‘come look at my three-bedroom apartment.’”
Kent has since purchased a home in the San Fernando Valley.
Kent also speculated that Richards “would hate” her if they were RHOBH co-stars.
Lala Kent Is ‘Freaking Out’ About Her Next Reality TV Moment
In November 2024, Bravo announced that “Vanderpump Rules” would be rebooted with a new cast for season 12. While Kent’s days on “Vanderpump Rules” are done, she will make some cameos on the upcoming second season of “The Valley.” She told Hirsch she’s “freaking out” about it a little bit because she doesn’t want to feel “overly exposed” as a mother.
“I’ve never shown myself as a mom,” she told Parade in a separate interview. “I think that would be the hardest, because I hold motherhood so sacred. I love that it’s been off-limits, where it’s just for me, and my kid and my household, I think that that would be a huge transition for me. Showing how I do things as a mom.”
