Season 3 of The Traitors just began and Peacock has already dropped the first three episodes. Vanderpump Rules alum, Tom Sandoval has been cast and viewers are anxious to see what he will bring to the hit series. Unfortunately, it was his immense “detox” sweat that distracted everyone. Traitors Fans Freaked Out By Tom Sandoval’s ‘Detox’ Sweat
Tom Sandoval is perfect for The Traitors as he wants so badly to make people think he is a changed man. He feels that he is no longer the lying cheater who slept with his girlfriend’s best friend. Rather, he has evolved and is a new person, something he tried to prove when he appeared on Season 2 of Special Forces. Sandoval was determined to be punished for his sins. Now, he feels he has taken the heat long enough and it should be done. Vanderpump Rules has been rebooted with a new cast, and his bar, Schwartz & Sandy’s has closed.
Sandoval is entering a new chapter in his life with his up-and-down girlfriend, Victoria Lee Robinson. They are currently doing their best to rescue animals and help those in need amid the California wildfires. However, Sandoval still cannot shake ‘Scandoval.’ He was immediately shunned when he arrived at The Traitors castle in Scotland. Co-stars, Gabby Windey and Nikki Garcia refused to say hello. Even host, Alan Cumming played mind games with him. Sandoval is trying his best to be likable but it is hard to focus on anything other than his disgusting armpits.
While at breakfast, Tom Sandoval is standing and it is clear that something is off. Everyone else is wearing warm clothing whereas he has on a T-shirt. However, he is sweating bullets in the armpit area. A Reddit thread was started to address what was going on with the reality star and fans had some theories. One common theory was detox:
- Cocaine and alcohol detox
- He’s detoxing.
- Withdrawals
- Oh he’s Detoxing big time. He looks strung out.
A Freezing Home
The fact that Tom Sandoval was sweating in The Traitors’ castle was very suspicious. Followers noted how previous players stated how cold it had always been. More so, they pointed out the weather in Scotland and how it was likely quite cool:
- Didn’t previous cast members say the castle was absolutely freezing?!
- Look at how everyone else in the room is dressed: bundled up in layers because it’s freaking Scotland in an old, drafty castle!! And then we have Sandoval in a short-sleeve tee sweating bullets. Gee I wonder why…
However, Sandoval did lose his luggage so he was forced to wear whatever they gave him so that may have been uncomfortable. There was also the suggestion of antidepressants which can make people sweat profusely. Finally, viewers may not know the root cause of his excessive armpit sweat but they will be paying close attention.

Meanwhile, the Faithful also get to eliminate contestants, but they do so by engaging in full-cast Round Tables where they squabble about whom to send home.
As the season premiere arrived on Peacock Thursday, Tom, 42, was roundly roasted by social media users who brought up his ‘Scandoval’ controversy of 2023, when he cheated on his girlfriend of nine years Ariana Madix with their friend Rachel Leviss.
Viewers shared their disgusted reactions to the huge sweat stains visible on Tom’s armpits and gleefully theorized that the show was edited to make him look worse.

Even Alan, 59, found time on this week’s season premiere to take a jab at Tom over the controversial affair he conducted with Rachel, formerly Raquel.
The exchange occurred when Tom told Alan during a one-on-one discussion: ‘I would love to be a Faithful. I don’t think I would do well as a Traitor.’
‘How would you feel if I were to tap you on the shoulder? Would you feel I’d betrayed you Tom?’ asked Alan slyly, and when Tom answered that he would, Alan delivered the punchline: ‘Doesn’t feel so nice, does it?’
Fans exulted in the moment on X, formerly Twitter, where they shared crying laughing emojis and posted comments like: ‘Thank you Alan!’ and ‘Alan WHACKED him!!!!!’
One shared a GIF of Ariana looking skeptical and vamped: ‘sandoval begging to be a faithful when he couldn’t even be faithful to his 10 yr long gf.’

Ariana broke up with Tom in March 2023 after she looked through his phone and discovered he had been carrying on an affair with Rachel.
As ‘Scandoval’ exploded, Tom turned into a nationwide hate figure and Ariana became an object of widespread public sympathy.
Meanwhile Rachel was subjected to a deluge of backlash so fierce that she quit Vanderpump Rules and retreated to a mental health facility for two months.

The Traitors is an English-language version of a Dutch series called De Verraders, which is itself adapted from the party game Mafia.
Season one of the US edition premiered on Peacock in 2023, and now the show has begun its third season, with an all new star-studded cast.
Tom joins a lineup including former Real Housewives Of New York City star Dorinda Medley, Somali model Chanel Ayan and The Bachelorette alum Wells Adams.
RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Bob The Drag Queen and The Real Housewives Of New Jersey star Dolores Catania are also on the new season.
So are Zac Efron’s brother Dylan Efron, retired wrestler Nikki Garcia aka Nikki Bella, Britney Spears’ ex-husband Sam Asghari and Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause.
