See How Kristen Doute’s Young Life in Michigan Previewed Her Next Big Role as a Mom
So much has changed for Kristen Doute since viewers first got to know her on Season 1 of Vanderpump Rules. Kristen is just weeks away from expecting her first child with her fiancé, Luke Broderick, in June, and The Valley cast member is so excited.
The James Mae designer is expecting a baby girl and has been celebrating every step of the way. After traveling to her home state of Michigan to celebrate her little one on the way with a wildflower-themed baby shower, The Valley‘s Brittany Cartwright threw her another floral-themed bash in Los Angeles on April 27.
Before Kristen welcomes her baby, we’re taking a look back at her own childhood, from her days as a tiny tot playing with dolls to her time in high school as a cheerleader and aspiring actress.

Kristen was born in Dearborn, Michigan, to her parents, including her lookalike mom, Faye Doute. From a young age, Kristen knew exactly who she was, and she has stuck with that her whole life. Kristen has known for a very long time that she has wanted to be a mother, and in this super sweet photo from her childhood, she held a Cabbage Patch Kids doll (with its very own pacifier!) in her lap.
Kristen recently told Entertainment Tonight that she is eager to see how her daughter takes after both her and Luke.
“I’m excited to have a little girl who is half me, half Luke,” she explained. “We couldn’t be more different, in most areas of our life, and I love that for her. She’s going to be so well-rounded, and I’m excited to see what her little personality is like.”
Maybe her daughter will love dogs as much as she does, as seen in this sweet photo from her childhood with a pet.

Kristen was a cheerleader in high school, according to Radar Online, and was voted “Best Actress” in her high school yearbook. When she moved to Los Angeles, she wanted to become an actress and even had some small acting roles before landing on Vanderpump Rules.
How Kristen Doute’s younger days are preparing her for motherhood
Although Kristen is excited to see what traits she passes down to her daughter, she also told Entertainment Tonight that she is “absolutely” scared of that as well. However, she feels prepared.
“When I found out that we were having a girl, because I really in my mind thought we were having a boy…but once it settled in that I was having a girl, I was like, ‘Well there’s no one better on the face of this earth to raise little Kristen than me,'” she said.
“I know exactly what to do and what not to do,” she continued. “This is gonna be so easy…famous last words.”
If Kristen’s daughter’s childhood is anything like her own, her little one will have fun with fashion and enjoy a variety of hobbies. Maybe she’ll take part in roller hockey, just like Kristen once did!
