“Vanderpump Rules” star Scheana Shay made a surprise cameo at the Jonas Brothers’ JonasCon at the American Dream Mall in New Jersey on March 23.
“THE OFFICIAL PIZZA GIRL!!! @scheana,” the Jonas Brothers tweeted on their X page the morning of their convention.
The video shows Shay on stage wearing a red hat and white T-shirt, filming the crowd with her phone, and doing a little dance.
She was dressed as her character from a season 3 episode of “Jonas,” during which she plays a pizza delivery person whom all three brothers develop a crush on.
In the episode, the Jonas brothers reprised their song, “Video Girl” to “Pizza Girl,” with tiny versions of the trio running across a pizza being made by Shay.
Shay shared a picture of herself at JonasCon wearing the costume and posing with Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas, along with a throwback photo of their younger selves. “Maria the pizza girl is back,” she wrote.
When a fan asked Shay how many years had passed between the first and second pictures, she answered, “16 years!”
Shay Reveals How She Ended up as Pizza Girl
In a July 2023 interview with Dear Media, Shay shared how she got the role of Maria in the Jonas brothers’ sitcom.
“So I auditioned for their TV show on Disney. I had a major guest-starring role in an entire episode and part of that episode was this dream, cheesy, pun intended, sequence of this massive pizza being built,” she said.
Shay continued, “And I’m the girl. I was the pizza girl that they all had a crush on.” When asked what it was like working with the Jonas brothers, she answered, “They were so innocent and shy and still in their purity ring phase.”
Shay is Riding the Pizza Girl Wave
Shay used the momentum of her JonasCon appearance to promote her album and upcoming memoir. “I had so much fun reconnecting with Pizza Girl this weekend, and she has one last special to serve up! Buy ‘MY GOOD SIDE’ and submit your pre-order receipt at the form in my bio to receive a signed ‘GOOD AS GOLD’ vinyl, while supplies last!” she wrote in a March 24 Instagram post.
The video shows Shay dressed in her Pizza Girl outfit holding a pizza box and opening it to reveal her book and vinyl record.
“Thank you for being the sweetest. It was the highlight of my day at the con meeting you!!!!” a fan replied. Another wrote, “IT’S ALL REALLY HAPPENING.”
