The Queen is wearing a very similar shade of green to Kate, as she walks beside her husband.

Camilla, 77, has invited her children and their families to Sandringham for the first time this year.

Although they were not present on the walkabout, they are understood to have attended an earlier church service in private.

It comes after the Princess and her family endured a “brutal” year, due to Kate’s major abdominal surgery and subsequent cancer diagnosis – just weeks after the King was diagnosed with the same disease.

In November, William said the past 12 months had “probably been the hardest year in my life” as he talked about how he has coped in the wake of his wife and father’s diagnosis.

“It’s been dreadful,” he said. It’s probably been the hardest year in my life. So, trying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been really difficult.”
