Prince William has been close friends with David Beckham for a number of years.
Prince William has spoken of his long-time friendship with David Beckham in a rare interview. As well as being friends with the royal, David has joined William and King Charles on various high-profile visits across recent months. The former football star, 49, was recently appointed an ambassador for the King’s Foundation and attended a special dinner at the King’s home in Highgrove last month.

Speaking of his connection with the Royal Family during an event at the World Economic Forum in Davos, David was asked about his royal pals and recent work with the monarchy.
As he began to speak, he became emotional and admitted that he always gets “emotional talking about anything that I do with our Royal Family”.
Discussing William, the father-of-four admitted that he would join forces “whenever he’s asked me to get involved”. Expanding on this, he added: “[If William messages] ‘I need you to do this’ or ‘be there’, it’s always a ‘yes’.”
Admitting that his mum Sandra bursted into tears when he told her he’d been appointed as ambassador for the King’s Foundation, he said, “She knows my grandparents would have been proud that I have played such an important role in the Royal Family and the charities that they have.”
