Prince William and Princess Kate set to be invited to US by Donald Trump

The US President is reportedly set to invite the Prince and Princess of Wales to the US.

President Donald Trump will likely invite the Prince and Princess of Wales to the US this year, according to a source.

Prince William, 42, and Princess Kate, 43, are expecting an invite to Washington DC over the next few weeks as Trump is set to meet UK Prime Minister Kier Starmer within days.

A source told the Mail: “President Trump very much enjoyed meeting Prince William in France.

“He was wowed by William and thinks he’s a great guy. He will officially invite both the Prince and Princess of Wales to visit Washington but understands if the Princess of Wales’ health issues prevent her from coming.”

The invite is expected to come after the President met Prince William in France last year, just months after it was announced Princess Kate had finished chemotherapy following her cancer diagnosis last year.

William and Trump met at the Notre Dame reopening in Paris in December, during which the President praised William and his royal work.

Kensington Place revealed that the pair focused on the importance of the relationship between the UK and the US during their meeting.

The hint of a potential upcoming invite comes weeks after reports suggested the Royal Family would be vital in improving US and UK relations.

This is because Trump is a huge fan of the monarchy, with the President having spoken fondly about his relationship with the late Queen Elizabeth II before. It is also believed the President is on friendly terms with both King Charles and Queen Camilla.

While many may be supportive of Trump’s potential invite to Prince William and Princess Kate, William’s estranged brother Prince Harry, 40, may not be so keen.

This is because Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, who quit life as senior royals in 2020 before moving to America, are famously not fans of the President, with this feeling clearly mutual.

This was made extremely clear earlier this month when Trump said he did not want to get involved in Prince Harry’s US visa row for one key reason. When asked whether he would get involved in the visa drama surrounding the duke, Trump said in an interview weeks ago: “I don’t want to do that. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”

No invite has yet been extended from the President to any members of the Royal Family. However, this is expected to change within the next few weeks.
