Prince Louis STUNS The Nation With His Unexpected Debut In Honour Of Princess Catherine
Meet Prince Louis Arthur Charles, who broke the internet yesterday as he made an unexpected debut for a very significant reason.
Prince Louis has just made his photography debut, following in the footsteps of his famous mum. A stunning picture of the Princess of Wales, taken by the six-year-old, was shared by Kensington Palace to mark World Cancer Day.
In the candid image, Catherine is seen beaming in a forest in Windsor with her arms spread widely as sunbeams filter through the trees. A second picture, showing frost-covered leaves up close, was also shared. In a nod to her son’s photography, the 43-year-old added a camera emoji followed by the words “Prince Louis.”
His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge was born on April 23, 2018, as the third child and second son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. He was also the sixth great-grandchild of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Little did he know that, as soon as he was born, he became fifth in line to the throne of England.
Of course, the moniker of the tiniest royal family member was the source of much speculation leading up to his birth. Prior to the royal baby name announcement, British bookies had been favoring the odds of a Princess Mary if the baby was a girl and a Prince Albert or Arthur if the baby was a boy. Other likely girl names included Alice, Victoria, Alexandra, Diana, and Elizabeth, while Frederick, Henry, and James were among the choices for a boy.
Most people had actually thought the royal baby would be a girl. However, it soon became apparent that Prince Louis held the number one ranking in one category—birth weight.
At birth, little Prince Louis weighed in at a robust 8 lbs 7 oz, making him the heaviest Cambridge baby. His older siblings weighed slightly less, with Prince George at 8 lbs 6 oz and Princess Charlotte at 8 lbs 3 oz at birth. Not only does Louis rank as the heaviest Cambridge baby, but he also holds the title of the heaviest newborn heir to the throne in at least 100 years.
Recently, “Lou Bug’s” artistic skills were a delight to royal fans. He became the first of the Wales’ children to carry out this special task, following his mother’s passion for photography. Catherine has captured some of the most touching portraits of royals in recent decades, and now she appears to be passing the reins to her youngest son.
In the comments section of the post, one follower remarked, “I can’t believe this photo was taken by Louis! That’s so sweet!” while another added, “A beautiful image and message—looks like Louis has his mother’s love for photography. A talented young boy!”
Photography has long been a passion for the mother of three. The Princess’s skill behind the camera has been praised by professionals, and her family is her biggest muse. Her love for the craft is so strong that in 2021, the then-Duchess of Cambridge revealed that her children sometimes asked her to “please stop taking photographs” of them.
Today, the roles appeared to have reversed, with Louis showing his skill behind the camera through the beautifully captured image of his mother.
In 2019, Catherine announced her position as the new patron of the Royal Photographic Society. The keen amateur photographer succeeded the late Queen as the figurehead of the body, which was officially supported by the late monarch for 67 years. It is perhaps unsurprising, then, that Catherine encouraged her youngest son to spend time behind the camera following a tumultuous year for the family.
Elsewhere, she has received praise for her photographic portraits of her children, documenting milestones such as birthdays and first days at nursery. With the royal family moving in a more relatable direction, it’s no surprise they’ve ditched formal dress for something more low-key. The Princess and her children’s photography talents only add to this new image of the monarchy.
