In Shocking News: Prince Louis Could Soon Reach a Major Royal Milestone

Prince Louis, who will be turning seven next month, could soon pass a significant royal milestone—one that his siblings and younger cousin have already reached. While the youngest son of Prince William and Catherine Middleton has delighted the public with several appearances alongside his family, he has yet to make a visit abroad as part of a royal tour.

During her recent visit to the Wellington Barracks in London for St. Patrick’s Day, the Princess of Wales, Catherine, spoke with reporters about her hopes for future international travel with her children. Reflecting on past royal visits, she shared that her eldest son, Prince George, finds it fascinating that he has already been to Australia and New Zealand—though he was just a baby at the time.

Catherine and Prince William traveled to the two countries in 2014 for an official royal tour, bringing along their then-infant son. Now, nearly a decade later, Catherine expressed a desire to return with her children so they can fully experience and appreciate the places they visited in their earliest years. However, she acknowledged that finding the time to plan such a trip can be challenging, particularly with their many responsibilities.

“I would like to go back there with them. Now it’s finding time to do that. But I love to travel. Yes, it’s a long flight,” she admitted with a smile.

In addition to Australia and New Zealand, Catherine also spoke about her personal connection to the Middle East, a region she would love to explore with her family. She fondly recalled her childhood years spent in Jordan, where her father worked as a manager for British Airways in Amman.

“I love the Middle East because that’s familiar to me growing up,” she shared, highlighting the cultural and personal significance the region holds for her. She also emphasized the value of travel, saying, “There are so many opportunities now to travel. I think it’s brilliant to experience it.”

While international trips are often tied to royal duties, the Princess revealed that she and Prince William make an effort to balance official obligations with personal experiences. She explained that their royal engagements usually take them further afield, but they try to carve out time to explore countries in a private capacity as well.

“Otherwise, you end up seeing lots of insides of amazing buildings, but you don’t get to meet that many people,” she noted. Striking a balance between work and family is essential, and she emphasized the importance of allowing their children to experience different cultures beyond the formalities of royal duties.

Acknowledging the effort that goes into planning such trips, especially with young children, Catherine admitted, “It takes a bit of work.” However, she ended on a hopeful note, playfully suggesting, “I might see you down there!”

Despite her enthusiasm, Kensington Palace has released no details of any upcoming royal tours where Catherine and the children might attend.

Royal Travel Milestones

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex even traveled to South Africa with Prince Archie in 2019, meaning that the now 5-year-old reached the milestone in travel before his older cousin.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte have already made multiple international trips. In addition to their trips to Australia and New Zealand in 2014 and 2016, the siblings traveled to Poland and Germany with their parents in 2017.

Much like his two elder children, Prince William first traveled overseas to Australia at just 10 months old. Prince Harry, who is two years younger than William, first traveled abroad to Italy for a royal visit at only eight months old.

Catherine’s St. Patrick’s Day Appearance

After arriving at the central London camp on Monday, Catherine inspected the troops before being presented with traditional sprigs of shamrock by a member of the guards. She then pinned it to her lapel, adding to the Cartier Shamrock brooch she was already wearing.

In a sweet moment, Catherine knelt down to pet the regimental mascot, Turog Mor—an adorable Irish Wolfhound known as Sheamus—before gifting him a sprig of shamrock.

Later, inside the junior ranks’ dining hall, Catherine sipped on a pint of Guinness as a senior Guardsman toasted her. However, she chose to savor the drink slowly instead of attempting to “split the G.”

“Three cheers for the Colonel in the Regiment!” he declared, prompting raucous applause.

Catherine, who is Colonel of the Regiment after taking over from her husband, missed the Guards’ annual occasion last year while undergoing treatment for cancer.

For the event, she styled her look with black heeled boots and a percher hat, adding a shamrock pin. She kept her hair in a sleek updo and opted for a light makeup look. The royal also accessorized with Kiki McDonough green tourmaline earrings, the same ones she wore at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in 2018 and 2019.
