Meghan Markle has been accused of trying to “ruin” Princess Kate’s big royal engagement yesterday by angry royal fans.

The Princess of Wales, 43, stepped out in Wales on Wednesday for two joint engagements with her husband Prince William, 42.

The trip to Wales was the first joint trip made by the couple together to the country since Princess Kate’s cancer diagnosis and treatment last year.

While the couple looked as loved up as ever as they participated in making Welsh cakes and meeting members of the local community, royal fans could not help but think one person was trying to overshadow them.

This is because Meghan Markle, the couple’s estranged sister-in-law, took to Instagram later with a new video showing behind-the-scenes of her new upcoming Netflix series “With Love, Meghan”, which is set to air next month. Although the video is believed to just be promoting the upcoming show, royal fans can’t help but think the decision to post was to try and overshow William and Kate.

Among those sharing this opinion is Stephanie Sidley, who co-hosts the podcast Twin Talk W/ The Sidley Twins.

She wrote on X: “Okay, Meghan Markle just put this cringe video back up on her Instagram after posting and deleting. She definitely wanted to ruin the Prince and Princess of Wales’ first joint visit back to Wales after Catherine’s cancer diagnosis.”

A number of royal fans rushed to the comments in agreement.

One fan wrote: “Nothing she can do will ever upstage Catherine and William.”

A second said: “I’d rather watch the Prince and Princess of Wales Walk down a hallway hand in hand. Thank you!!”

A third wrote: “Meghan could hardly ruin anything the Wales do. They are promoting a community and she is promoting pancake mix.”

Another royal fan commented: “I don’t think too many pay attention to her. Those who want to follow the Wales’, follow them.”

Meghan’s new Netflix series is set to air in five days. Along with the new video, which showed Meghan with members of the Netflix crew, she wrote: “Six more days until our show launches on @netflix! Celebrating the crew and everyone who helped make this happen! The countdown begins.”
