Lady Louise Got Regal & Unique Gift From King Charles As She Shares Sweet Moment With Duchess Sophie
It’s a crisp Christmas morning at Sandringham, and the royal family gathers for their cherished tradition—the walk to St Mary Magdalene Church. King Charles III and Queen Camilla led the procession, followed closely by Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, accompanied by their children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and the ever-spirited Prince Louis.
In a world often overshadowed by spectacle, this moment feels refreshingly genuine. But this isn’t just another royal stroll; it’s a lesson in understated elegance, genuine joy, and how to embrace life’s milestones with dignity and style.
In previous years, eagle-eyed royal fans have been quick to notice that a number of family members, including Lady Louise Windsor and Princess Anne, were wearing the same scarf for the infamous walk, believed to be gifts from King Charles. It turns out that we may see the scarf again today, as there is a very touching reason behind the matching accessory.
This year, the spotlight shone brightly on Lady Louise Windsor and royal members. There was no flashy posturing or attention-seeking antics—just a happy family enjoying the moment. Unfortunately, her boyfriend opted out of joining the royal family for Christmas at Sandringham, sparking curiosity among royal watchers about his absence.
Despite past instances of non-married partners being included in holiday festivities during the Christmas Day outing, Lady Louise, who is incredibly close to her mother, was spotted having a heart-to-heart moment with Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh. The Duchess was captured placing a protective arm around her daughter’s waist, leaning in to chat with her.
As they climbed up the steps to the church, the 21-year-old royal, who is 16th in line to the throne, was seen walking with her parents and younger brother, James, Earl of Wessex, without Felix by her side. While this absence raises questions about the young couple’s future holiday traditions, it seems clear that Lady Louise and Felix are still enjoying a strong and supportive relationship outside the royal spotlight.
The couple reportedly first connected during their involvement in a student-written play performed at the University’s Spire Theater. Their relationship has grown steadily, with Silva-Clamp even making a special trip to Sandringham earlier this year to support Louise during her carriage-driving competition, where she earned a silver medal. The son of a solicitor father, Felix is said to work part-time at an ice cream parlor while studying in Scotland.
While a student, Louise once took a job at a garden center. The royal turned 21 on November 8th this year and has been praised for her relatability. “What’s not to like about Lady Louise?” asks former royal correspondent Jenny Bond. “She has overcome a great deal and now is blossoming into a beautiful 21-year-old enjoying life at St Andrews like any other undergraduate. She’s studying English and is reportedly taking to the stage in university productions, in many ways emulating her father.”
The visit also offered an opportunity for Felix to bond with Lady Louise’s family, including her parents, Prince Edward and the Duchess of Edinburgh. The Duchess is regularly seen supporting her daughter during competitions and training and even had her family in stitches as she took part in a drinking game during the Sandham Driving Horse Trials in July.
Meanwhile, Sophie looked beautiful in a cornflower blue coat dress by Emilia Wickstead, paired with a navy veiled Jane Taylor hat, tan boots from Reiss, and a mint cross-body bag from Strathberry. It’s not the only time we’ve seen Sophie’s caring side in recent months, with the Duchess spotted supporting the Princess of Wales as the royal ladies stood side by side at the Remembrance Day Sunday service in November. She regularly borrows outfits and accessories from her mother’s stylish wardrobe, with the student seen sporting Sophie’s grey Jean Taylor beret-style hat for the Christmas Day outing. She teamed the accessory with a camel coat, a burgundy dress, and nude ankle-strap heels.
