Katie Maloney and Ariana Madix launched Something About Her 10 months ago, and not only has their business completely taken off, but they’ve added exciting flourishes along the way.
On March 16, Katie hopped on her Instagram Stories to show a peek at the inside of Something About Her and how she and her business partner spiced up the place with a few merchandise offerings. “New merch display signage,” the Vanderpump Rules alum wrote over a photo of a section of the restaurant that featured “beautiful display art” from [dear Julia] plus Hippy Feet Socks and Quickies press-on nails.
Ariana Madix hints at expanding Something About Her
In addition to the merchandise and new signage, Katie and Ariana have been hard at work growing and expanding their business in other ways.
In a recent interview with People StyleWatch, Ariana hinted at some exciting business developments, sharing that she and her former Vanderpump Rules castmate have “lots of things in the works.”
Discussing their restaurant venture, Ariana stated, “It’s been really fun” further noting how enjoyable it is to meet guests at the restaurant.
The Chicago star also revealed that she and Katie plan to host more Something About Her events, such as their newly introduced tea parties. Additionally, they’re open to expanding the business with a new location if the “right investor” comes along.
Ariana Madix reflects on her and Katie Maloney’s sandwich shop journey
Though Ariana and Katie announced their sandwich shop plans in Vanderpump Rules Season 9 (2022), they didn’t open the business until two years later, attributing the long delay to construction and permit issues.
“We had to rip out an entire patio,” she shared during an April 2024 interview with E! News. “So we’ve had to get a whole new awning made, we’ve had to get new permits for that, [and] that took forever. Public Works and Safety, they just — talk to them. I’ll give you their phone number if you want to talk to them and ask [what the hold up is].”
Since opening in May 2024, the business still appears to be thriving.
“I’m really glad we went through a detailed planning process… before we got our location or anything,” Ariana told The Daily Dish during the shop’s grand opening. “I think us being able to roll with the punches, and just keep going, and keep looking ahead, and keep believing and staying committed to it, I think that’s how we were able to get to this point.”
