‘Jeopardy’: Catherine Subtly Reminds Her Hierarchy For the First Time Receiving New Title
The world watched as the old Fab Four—Prince Harry and Meghan Markle joined Prince William and Princess Catherine—for a surprise walkabout at Windsor Castle just two days after Queen Elizabeth’s death. This appearance marked a significant moment of unity amid ongoing tensions within the family.
However, a royal disaster was narrowly avoided behind the scenes, thanks to Prince Harry’s quick thinking.
As the Sussex couple walked alongside the Waleses, cameras caught a moment when Harry held Meghan back, subtly signaling for her to pause rather than advance too quickly. This move prevented a potential breach of protocol or an awkward interaction with William and Catherine. Harry’s gesture ensured Meghan remained in sync with the group, preventing what could have been perceived as a misstep. The small moment spoke volumes about Harry’s protective nature toward Meghan and his awareness of royal optics.
Harry’s decision to subtly guide Meghan during the Windsor walkabout highlights his role as a seasoned royal who understands the weight of public perception. While Meghan has spoken openly about the difficulties of adapting to royal life, moments like these demonstrated the complexities of navigating the institution’s unwritten rules.
The walkabout, while hailed as a rare moment of unity, was fraught with underlying tensions. The Duke and Duchess’ relationship with the royal family remained strained since their 2020 departure. From commenting on his older brother’s alarming hair loss to putting some of the blame on William and Catherine for the 2005 Nazi scandal, Harry didn’t mince words when talking about the heir in his tell-all.
And the Prince of Wales has had enough.
According to a source, William doesn’t even recognize his own brother anymore. “He wants to believe that there’s hope for peace down the line, but it’s hard after Harry’s several interviews bashing their family and detailing private moments in his book,” the source revealed.
William doesn’t see how the 38-year-old can come back into the fold of the royals. The source pointed out that the prince is turned off by how rude and insulting his little brother was toward him, his wife, and their father in the explosive and embarrassing autobiography.
At this point, William has no plans to speak to Harry. He’s come to terms with the fact that he’s lost his little brother—and quite possibly for life.
Some royal experts believe the California-based royal couple could become the biggest crisis facing the royal family in the next ten years. “But when you look into everything now, for instance in the books, I would never ever have predicted that,” one commentator remarked.
The fresh warning came days after Harry and Meghan visited Colombia, where they received a memorable and heartfelt welcome from Vice President Francia Márquez.
However, their latest tour has reportedly made King Charles and Prince William furious.
Despite this, a reunion for the couples could now be on the cards. William has declared that he and Catherine hope to work overseas more this year, especially after his wife’s battle with cancer. Speaking towards the end of last year, he said, “Hopefully, Catherine will be doing a bit more next year, so we’ll have some more trips lined up.”
At least one of those trips will see the future king and queen head Stateside after applying for a trademark to launch their Royal Foundation charity in the U.S. Catherine remains hopeful that a visit to Harry’s new homeland will give him and William a chance to put their grievances behind them once and for all.
“It’s still being discussed, but the princess is feeling a lot better and has said she’d love the chance to get over to America,” a source told Closer magazine. “She sees it as a rare chance to meet up with Harry and feels like it would be a great step towards making peace.”
An insider also revealed that Meghan is deeply affected by constant comparisons to Catherine, particularly the differing media narratives surrounding them. Despite ongoing tensions between the royal sisters-in-law, the Duchess of Sussex harbors no ill will toward the Princess of Wales.
In fact, Meghan has reportedly extended a kind message to Catherine, expressing her hopes for the princess’s good health amid her cancer remission.
