Jax Taylor Shares a Surprising Update on His Mom After No Communication for “Six, Seven Years”

Jax Taylor is now focusing on repairing his relationships with his family members amidst his sobriety. After The Valley cast member recently revealed that he is recovering from a years-long struggle with alcohol and cocaine addiction, he is now focusing on the future with the support from his loved ones.

In a March 26 interview with Us Weekly, Jax (born Jason Cauchi) admitted that he recently spoke to his mom, Marie Cauchi, whom he had been estranged from for multiple years. “My mother reached out to me — we haven’t talked in six, seven years,” he said. “That was interesting. I wasn’t ready to open that up yet.”

Jax continued, explaining that he was also happy that his younger sister, Jenny Lynn Cauchi (who he recently reunited with), reached out as well. “I was glad she reached out,” he noted. “And my sister, too.”

Where does Jax Taylor stand with his mom today?

Jax admitted to the publication that he would like to eventually introduce his mom to his three-year-old son, Cruz Cauchi. “I want my mother to meet her grandson — that’s my main priority,” he said.

What happened between Jax Taylor and his mom?

During Vanderpump Rules Season 7, Episode 2, Jax explained that the death of his father, Ronald Cauchi, in 2017 led to him and his mom not speaking. “I used to be very close to my mom. Everybody’s like, I love your mom,” he said. “We really haven’t communicated in the last six months, pretty much since my father passed.”

“Their marriage was on the rocks; she was talking about leaving my dad about a month before he got cancer,” he admitted. “Toward the end, my mom would say, ‘Oh, he’s fine.’ We didn’t know he was in ICU; I would have been there in a heartbeat if I knew he was in ICU. I mean, I get it, my mother’s trying to protect my sister and I, but I should have been able to say goodbye to my dad.”

Jax appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in January 2020, where he revealed that his mother did not attend his 2019 wedding to his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright. This had been hard on Jax, who explained how he felt without her there.

“You know what? She didn’t even call me on my wedding day,” he said. “She hasn’t reached out to me at all. I’m sorry, I’m maybe a little stubborn, but I’m the son, and I just feel like — it’s just a touchy subject.”
