Jax Taylor Forced To Enter Rehab Or See His Reality TV Career Doomed: “Jax Went Over The Line”

Jax Taylor’s career and personal life have been through a lot this year, but what a lot of fans might not know is that he was on the verge of losing everything he’d accomplished professionally. The reality TV star is now getting ready for the next season of The Valley, which will shed some light on the turbulent events of Jax’s life, but Bravo put some conditions in place for him to remain on the show.

As he navigates his divorce, being a parent, and working on himself, here’s why Jax really made the decision to go to rehab.

As fans know, Jax Taylor checked himself into a mental health facility a few months ago and spent thirty days in in-patient treatment. He also went to rehab. But the latter was, apparently, not his choice, and he did so with some reluctance.

An insider talked to The Sun and revealed that it was Bravo who forced the Vanderpump Rules star to take care of his health.

“Production told Jax that if he wanted to film The Valley, he had to go to rehab. So he went to save his job,” the insider said. “It was a non-negotiable for them. It wasn’t his idea.”

Reportedly, Jax engaged in “inappropriate” behavior on set during a fight with Brittany Cartwright, and that was the last straw for Bravo, the source said.

“Jax went over the line on this occasion.”

No matter what reason he had for going to rehab, it’s a good thing he did, because he can now resume his professional career, and his health and relationship with his loved ones will also benefit from him taking this step.

Jax’s Recent Diagnosis

Jax’s time in rehab and receiving mental health treatment was highly transformative. He might have gone into it because he had no choice if he wanted to keep his job, but it did wonders for him, as he got to learn a lot about taking care of himself, and even found out the true cause of a lot of his struggles.

After he checked out of the mental health facility, Jax made an emotional post sharing some startling news about his health.

“A little over a month ago, I checked into an intensive inpatient treatment facility scared of the unknown and what I would find out about myself,” he wrote back in September.

“After many years of knowing something was wrong but not knowing exactly what it was, I recently learned that I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and PTSD. It’s been a lot to process and an emotional time for me, however I’ve come home to my son with a new found sense of peace. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared for the future but my focus is just trying to be a better version of myself than I was yesterday. Mental health is a lifelong battle of not letting it control you but rather you learning to control it.”

“Thank you everyone who has reached out in support and who also shared their own personal struggles with me. Your messages have helped me more than you know,” he concluded.

Jax And Brittany’s Divorce Will Play Out In The Valley

Months before he checked into rehab, Jax and Brittany’s marriage was already broken beyond repair. The two of them had been living separately, but no one had filed for divorce yet, maybe because of Jax’s mental health.

However, shortly after he went back home, it was revealed that Brittany had filed for divorce.

She spoke about it during an episode of When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany, and explained that, while it wasn’t an easy decision, she had to take a step back to protect herself.

“So it’s been a big week. I’m sure everyone listening has seen the news online by now that I filed for divorce from Jax,” she began.

“I unfortunately can’t speak on details because everything has been heavily documented on the show since we happen to be filming right now. You will see how everything plays out once the show airs but I will say this: This season has been the most difficult season I have ever had to film.”

Brittany also responded to the speculation that their marriage problems were purely for show.

“Many have said online they think this has been a publicity stunt for the show or to garner ratings. It’s the furthest thing from that. My decision to file wasn’t made lightly or quickly,” she explained. “It’s taken me many many years to get to this point, where I’ve gained enough courage and strength to do what was best for me—get myself out of a toxic relationship and ultimately see my worth.”

Now that Jax is on the right path regarding his mental health, hopefully, he and Brittany can establish an amicable relationship for their sake and their son’s. No one can blame Brittany for calling it quits. Although Jax’s diagnosis is not his fault, of course it’s hard to deal with a partner’s mental health struggles, and if she needed to step back, that’s completely understandable.
