It’s Depressed! Princess Charlotte’s Terrifying Moment for Catherine After Staff Incident
In the age of social media, the royal family has to contend with an ever-watchful audience. Any misstep can lead to a viral moment, and the consequences can be immediate and damaging. A royal close call occurred on May 2, 2015, when it was announced that the Princess of Wales had given birth to her second child, Princess Charlotte. The announcement of a royal birth is a carefully choreographed operation. However, Jason N., a former royal aide to William and Catherine, revealed that there was a major mishap when it came to announcing Charlotte’s birth.
“You know, you have hundreds and hundreds of journalists and photographers from all over the world that arrive in London, camping outside, trying to get their spot,” Jason said. “Meanwhile, behind the scenes, you have a very pregnant member of the royal family and her husband who are trying to get their lives organized for the arrival of a different child.”
He explained that he had written down Charlotte’s birth time and weight for a press release but misplaced the slip of paper. “Somewhere on that street, the entire time, was a piece of paper that said there had been a little princess born, what time, and how much she weighed,” he admitted. Despite the momentary panic, the announcement proceeded without issue. When asked if he had ever found the slip, Jason responded, “No, I never found it, and neither did any of the media. Though, that’s all that really mattered.”
On the Happy Mom, Happy Baby podcast in February 2020, Princess Catherine opened up about traditionally posing for photos outside the hospital. “I wasn’t going to lie,” she said, describing it as slightly terrifying. She then explained why she and William did the photo call with Prince George, Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
“Both William and I were really conscious that this was something that everyone was excited about, and, you know, we are hugely grateful for the support that the public had shown us,” she shared. “Actually, for us to be able to share that joy and appreciation with the public, I felt was really important. But equally, it was coupled with a newborn baby and inexperienced parents, and the uncertainty of what that held. So there were all sorts of mixed emotions.”
Princess Charlotte was born at 8:34 a.m. on May 2, 2015, weighing 8 lbs 3 oz. She was delivered quickly, allowing her mother to leave the Lindo Wing by late afternoon. A few days after her arrival, the parents shared her name, Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, with her middle names paying tribute to Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana.
Their daughter has a big birthday coming up in less than 3 months. At the time of writing, on May 2, 2025, Charlotte will be 10 years old, marking her entry into the “tween” territory as she and George get closer to entering their teen years. Royal fans can expect a new photo of Charlotte to mark her birthday. It’s tradition that Catherine and William share a never-before-seen snap, often taken by the future queen to mark the occasion.
First up, however, Charlotte and George have their younger brother, Prince Louis, to celebrate. He turns seven on April 23, 2025, and then it’ll be Charlotte’s turn, followed by William in June and George in July. Since her birth, Charlotte has been known for her independent personality and strong bond with her mother. Charlotte has a protective nature, recalling how she looked after her mother during last year’s Trooping the Colour. Charlotte seems to be full of admiration for her mother. This duo is great friends, and their bond is very precious.
Jason was a loyal staff member for William and Catherine from 2015 to 2021, and even now, he remains close friends with the family. His departure marked the end of his journey with the royals, but he moved abroad soon thereafter. According to the above-mentioned outlet, he played a key role in helping start William’s Earthshot Environmental Awards, as well as the couple’s Heads Together mental health initiative, and accompanied them for 36 foreign trips.
For him, this position marked an incredibly important chapter in his life. “Working for the Prince and Princess of Wales was the honor of a lifetime,” he said at the time. “Receiving this recognition means more to me than I can say. I am incredibly grateful.”
