Inappropriate Situation: Catherine and William SHOCKED Fellow Parents At George’s School!
Sharing a classroom with the future king is a unique experience, and no one is more conscious of that than the Wales family. Prince William and Princess Catherine are known for being hands-on parents who take on many of the daily responsibilities of family life themselves. Regulars on the school run, the couple is often seen at school events at Lambrook School in Berkshire, where their children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—are pupils.
With their high-profile status, William and Catherine are mindful of the potential disruptions their presence might cause. According to royal correspondent Richard Palmer, they make an effort not to inconvenience fellow parents and will even occasionally oblige requests for photos. Despite the school’s discreet security measures to protect the royal children, there have been instances of rogue photographers or parents sharing pictures of George playing football online.
Before enrolling at Lambrook, Prince George and Princess Charlotte attended Thomas’s Battersea, a prestigious London day school where tuition now costs up to £10,450 per term. However, Lambrook caters to students up to age 13, meaning that before long, Prince George will need to move on to a secondary school.
While the royal couple has not yet announced their decision, speculation suggests Marlborough College—a co-educational boarding school—may be among their top choices. This choice would align with Catherine’s own educational background, as she attended Marlborough. Additionally, experts believe it would be a practical option, as all three Wales children could potentially attend, minimizing security costs.
Marlborough College is known for its rigorous academic standards, offering a progressive and enriching curriculum designed to foster both exam success and a lifelong love of learning. The school is located over an hour’s drive from Windsor, but it offers full boarding facilities. Historically, the school was once the home of the Seymour family, who later relocated to Wolf Hall—the inspiration for Hilary Mantel’s Wolf Hall trilogy. Notable alumni include poets Siegfried Sassoon and John Betjeman, as well as comedian Jack Whitehall.
Another strong contender for Prince George is Eton College, a prestigious all-boys boarding school that his father, Prince William, attended. Eton is located much closer to the family’s Windsor residence at Adelaide Cottage, making it a convenient option. However, some believe that William and Catherine may take a different approach, considering the evolving landscape of royal education.
In terms of royal academic paths, Prince William studied at the University of St Andrews, initially majoring in Art History before switching to Geography. He later graduated with a Master of Arts degree. Prince Harry, on the other hand, opted out of university, choosing instead to train at Sandhurst, Britain’s military academy for officers.
Princess Anne was initially educated at home, similar to her mother, before attending Benenden School in Kent at her own request. King Charles attended Trinity College at the University of Cambridge, where he studied archaeology, anthropology, and history. Prince Edward also studied history at Jesus College, Cambridge, before spending three years in the Royal Marines. Meanwhile, Prince Andrew did not attend university, instead completing his Royal Navy officer training at Britannia Royal Naval College.
As Prince George’s transition to secondary school approaches, all eyes are on William and Catherine’s decision. Whether they follow tradition or choose a more modern approach, their choice will likely reflect their ongoing efforts to balance royal duty with providing a grounded upbringing for their children.
