DANGEROUS! Catherine & William Face Another Attack At Anmer Hall, Norfolk Causing ‘Great Anxiety’
Raising the next generation of royals can’t be easy, and in an effort to keep her children grounded, Catherine, the Princess of Wales, is doing what she can to facilitate a normal upbringing.
The trio are attending Lambrook School in Berkshire, which is closing for the Easter holidays on 28th March for one month. The Wales family could return to a long-standing royal tradition they missed last year, given reports that they may take a break from Windsor and travel to their country home in Norfolk.
Although the couple’s first marital home was a humble four-bedroom farmhouse in Anglesey, Wales, they moved to Anmer Hall on a permanent basis in 2015 with Prince George, who was aged two at the time, as William was working as a pilot for the East Anglian Air Ambulance. However, the royal couple previously faced some trouble while living there, and many who live in rural locations will likely relate.
In 2015, a source reported that the grounds of Anmer Hall were under attack by moles. The report also stated that William and Catherine had already spent £1.5 million on renovating their Norfolk home and were likely forced to pay more to have professionals deal with the pesky animals. Fortunately for William and Catherine, the issue was out of sight and out of mind, as they were enjoying a lavish holiday in the Caribbean with young Prince George at the time the news was shared.
At the time, the couple were expecting their second child, Princess Charlotte, who was born in May that year at St. Mary’s Hospital. Meanwhile, away from the perils of rural living, the Prince and Princess of Wales no doubt adored living at their stunning home.
As with any school, the week approaching the holidays sees children winding down and completing their last-minute pieces of homework for pre-Easter deadlines. Aside from work, the Prince and Princess of Wales’ kids will likely be preparing chocolate gifts to give to their friends and teachers—with the help of their parents, of course.
The Aston Villa football fan was among the spectators as his West Midlands club sailed to a 3-0 victory against Belgian side Club Brugge at Villa Park. This secured them a spot in the Champions League quarterfinals against French team Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes on 9th April. As William left the match, he told journalists, “See you in Paris,” as he walked to his car, appearing to confirm his travel plans.
William, Catherine, George, and Charlotte eventually moved out of Anmer in 2017 and decided to reside in London. By 2018, they welcomed little Prince Louis and were happy as a family of five living in Kensington Palace. Now, they live at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, but the family is still fond of their Norfolk home and often spends Christmas holidays there due to the royal tradition of celebrating Christmas Day at Sandringham with the monarch and other senior members of the royal family.
The 10-bedroom Anmer Hall, located on the Sandringham Estate, was gifted to Catherine and William by the late Queen Elizabeth II as a wedding present following their nuptials at Westminster Abbey in April 2011. Surrounded by leafy parks and acres of land, it offers plenty of privacy and a wonderful escape for the family.
When they are not enjoying local pubs, pottery painting studios, and nearby Holkham Beach (which featured in their wholesome family video in 2021 with the children playing in the sand dunes), George, Charlotte, and Louis may be preparing for the summer term, completing assignments, and even starting early revision for end-of-year exams in July.
In 2024, William revealed that Charlotte was not enjoying her exams during a walkabout at a D-Day event in Portsmouth. Speaking to a young royal fan, he said, “Charlotte’s at school. Charlotte’s got exams, yes, she’s got tests. She wasn’t looking forward to it this morning.” Crossing his fingers, William added, “Hopefully, it’s all gone well.”
In 2024, the Wales family did not attend the Easter Sunday service alongside King Charles, which is considered an important fixture in the royal family’s calendar. The Princess had just commenced her course of preventative chemotherapy, so she chose to step away from the spotlight to recover privately alongside her family.
