Catherine CRYING & GIVING Final Ultimatum to William On Royal Split: ‘Enough is enough’
Princess Catherine and Prince Harry once shared a deep and affectionate bond, forged through years of warmth and camaraderie after she married Prince William in 2011. But that was before Prince Harry’s dramatic exit from royal life.
For a time, the Princess of Wales played a crucial role in maintaining harmony between her husband and his younger brother. However, that dynamic changed dramatically when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped away from royal duties and relocated to the United States. Since then, tensions between the brothers have escalated, and Catherine has been left heartbroken over the lingering animosity within the family.
Reports have long suggested that the relationship between William and Harry is beyond repair. But now, it seems Catherine has had enough, as reports emerge of her bold attempts to mend fences—even if it might ruffle feathers within the monarchy.
According to insiders who spoke with Closer this month, Catherine orchestrated a surprise meeting between the warring brothers during the Wales family’s recent trip to Mustique in February. The secluded Caribbean island, known for its exclusivity and discretion, provided a private setting for an emotional reunion.
Though Catherine was hopeful that this effort would help rebuild bridges, the reality was far from the ideal reconciliation she had envisioned. She had reached out to Harry months prior, discussing his travel plans for the UK, and mentioned their upcoming trip. She suggested that it might be a rare chance for him to spend time with her, William, and their children away from media scrutiny.
Surprisingly, given the trouble he caused for the royal family with his interviews, media projects, and memoir Spare, Prince Harry allegedly agreed to see his brother and the rest of the family. However, he did not confirm his attendance until the last minute, making his arrival in Mustique unexpected. He made arrangements while in Canada for the Invictus Games and flew in for a brief visit.
According to the insider, Prince Harry was welcomed by Catherine with open arms. The Princess of Wales was delighted to be reunited with her formerly closest member of the royal family—apart from her husband. Sadly, Prince William seemed hesitant to bury the hatchet and make peace with his brother.
Catherine invited Harry over for lunch the day after he arrived. While William seemed very on edge at first, he loosened up after playing with the children and ended up staying into the evening. Catherine hoped that this would be an opportunity for them all to truly talk and find some resolution after years of fighting. However, the source claimed that William was frosty the entire time and didn’t really engage.
Nevertheless, it was a great opportunity for Catherine to catch up with Prince Harry. Sources indicated that she was quite tearful during the reunion, realizing how much she missed her brother-in-law and how devastating it was to see their once-close bond fractured.
Catherine was coming from a place of healing, having gained new perspective following her cancer diagnosis in March of last year.
Recently, the future queen made her feelings clear when asked about her past split from Prince William at an event with her sister, Pippa Middleton. Catherine left everyone stunned with her blunt response to a question about the end of her relationship with the prince in 2007, when they had briefly broken up.
The previously unreported encounter between Catherine and TV presenter Tara Palmer-Tomkinson has come to light from a 2007 book launch. The interaction occurred when William and Catherine, then 25 years old, were experiencing their first break in their romance.
Catherine and her sister Pippa attended the launch party for Simon Sebag Montefiore’s biography Young Stalin at Asprey Jewelers in Mayfair. According to the Daily Mail, Tara—who sadly passed away a decade later in 2017 at the age of 45—directly asked Catherine about her breakup with the royal, which had been widely reported months earlier.
“How are you doing?” Tara asked.
“Fine,” Catherine replied, reportedly blushing.
“It must be so hard,” Tara persisted.
“Really, it’s fine,” Catherine responded firmly, though uncomfortably. The conversation then moved on to different topics.
Meanwhile, the Prince and Princess of Wales are gearing up for a dose of friendly rivalry as England takes on Wales in the final round of the 2025 Six Nations on Saturday. The couple, who are set to attend the highly anticipated match, will be supporting different teams—Prince William as the patron of the Welsh Rugby Union, and Princess Catherine as the patron of the Rugby Football Union.
