Catherine BLOCKED Prince Louis From The Event and Revealed His Unexpected Transformation!

A Special Bond: The Last Baby Effect and Prince Louis’ Growing Confidence

Parents often tear up when they watch their children grow, and royal parents feel the same way. Princess Katherine and Prince William have become particularly emotional when watching Prince Louis transform from a shy toddler into a confident young royal.

Although Katherine is undeniably a doting mother to all three of her children, many parents would agree there is an added, unique layer to the bond between a parent and their youngest child—often referred to as the “last baby effect.” Over the years, we’ve seen numerous moments showing Kate as a hands-on mom to all three children, but it’s especially heartwarming to see the quality time she spends with her youngest.

In a notable and somewhat surprising break from royal tradition, Prince Louis made headlines once again at the highly anticipated Together at Royal celebrations. He arrived wearing a full black suit, marking a subtle yet striking departure from the long-standing tradition of young boys wearing shorts to public engagements. This shift has sparked widespread discussion about his individuality and the evolving traditions within the royal family.

For centuries, young male royals adhered to a formal dress code that typically involved wearing shorts, a practice deeply rooted in British upper-class culture. It symbolized innocence and youth. However, Louis’s appearance at the concert broke with this convention. At only five years old, he wore a tailored black suit and tie, looking poised like his older siblings. This choice drew immediate comparisons to his elder brother, Prince George, who didn’t transition to full suits until the age of eight. Louis has effectively set a new precedent for his generation of royals, marking a subtle but meaningful evolution in the Royal Family’s approach to tradition—suggesting a move towards modernizing some established norms.

Their special bond was also evident when Prince Louis took a leaf out of his mom’s book and took a photograph of her for a very special reason. Katherine, a keen photographer who usually shares professional-style family photos, posted the snap taken by her youngest on her social media to mark World Cancer Day. The image showed the princess standing outside on a wintry day with her arms outstretched—likely taken while she and Louis were getting some fresh air and enjoying the great outdoors.

Since becoming parents, Catherine and William have strived to ensure their children are brought up with as much normality as possible. According to a new royal book, it has been revealed that Princess Catherine put her foot down to prevent her children from taking part in a centuries-old blooding tradition. This ritual, which sees young royals go shooting and have their faces smeared with the blood of their first kill (often a stag or a fox), was one Catherine, who has complicated feelings towards blood sports, was adamant they avoid.

The king himself had gone through this rite as a child, as did his sons, Princes William and Harry. In his book Spare, the Duke of Sussex described his experience at the age of 15, after killing a stag on the grounds of Balmoral. However, given their status as senior royals and their global fame, Catherine and William have had to parent their kids—especially George, as the eldest and heir—differently from the average family. This level of pressure would have undoubtedly eased for the Wales once they welcomed their third baby.

Louis, in particular, has often been the star of the show on numerous royal outings, putting his confident and cheeky nature on display unapologetically. One standout moment from recent years was during the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations when Louis made hilarious faces while covering his ears due to the sheer volume of the RAF flypast. Another amusing moment saw Louis and his mom side by side watching the Jubilee concert, with Louis delightfully causing mischief and even putting his hand over his mom’s mouth at one point. Katherine, as relatable as ever, tried her best to ensure her then-five-year-old was on his best behavior.
