Catherine APPEARED STUNNING with William At The Welcoming State Ceremony For the Qatar’s Emir

The Prince and Princess of Wales are meeting the Qatar royal family today.

Princess Kate and Prince William have greeted the Qatar royal family in a major royal event following the Princess of Wales’ cancer treatment.

The couple were pictured smiling with the Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and his wife Sheikha Jawaher.

The future Queen looked elegant in a fitted burgundy coat by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen and a hat by Sahar Millinery as she stood alongside William and the VIP guests inside the residence in London.

She also sported a pearl necklace by the late Queen and had her hair done in a low chignon as she was seen in conversation with Sheikha Jawaher.

Kate is taking on a major role today as the two-day state visit officially begins with a ceremony in Whitehall.

It is her first appearance at a state visit since her cancer diagnosis.

The last time the Waleses held this important role was for the state visit of the South Korean President last November.

They later travelled with the Qatari royals to Horse Guards Parade, where The Amir and Sheikha Jawaher received a Ceremonial Welcome before being formally welcomed by the King at the Royal Pavilion.

Kate has been gradually returning to royal duties after she announced in September she had completed her chemotherapy treatment and her focus was “doing what I can to stay cancer-free”.

She will also travel with her husband in the carriage procession, and the couple will join Charles and Camilla as they host a lunch for their guests, Sheikh Tamim and Sheikha Jawaher.

The Royal Family rolled out the diplomatic red carpet this morning to welcome the Amir of Qatar for a two-day state visit to the UK.

After Kate and William’s greeting, the Qatari royals were welcomed by King Charles who was joined by by senior officials, including the Prime Minister, Foreign Secretary, and Home Secretary at Horse Guards Parade.

Absent from the lineup at Whitehall was the Queen, who pulled out of the official open-air greeting on Monday evening due to the lingering effects of a nasty chest infection.

Camilla, 77, was first diagnosed with the seasonal bug at the start of last month, following her long-haul trip to Australia and Samoa, and has reduced her diary on doctors’ advice.

Her medics urged her to take time to rest and recover fully so it was advised that she avoid standing outside and travelling via carriage in the chilly temperatures.

But she joined the royal party this afternoon at Buckingham Palace for a private lunch with the Amir and his wife and will also take part in all but one of the elements of the evening state banquet at Buckingham Palace, staged in honour of the Amir.
