‘The Valley’ star Jax Taylor Reveals Where He Stands With Ex Brittany Cartwright

“The Valley” star Jax Taylor spoke with E! News about where he stands with Brittany Cartwright after she filed for divorce in August 2024.

“It’s day by day right now,” Taylor said at the 2025 Los Angeles Art Show Opening Night Premiere Party on February 19. “It’s a wound. Going through a divorce is a wound, so we gotta make it heal. And we’re doing good things right now. We’re trying to work it out and hopefully everything goes good.”

Cartwright and Taylor met and began dating in 2015. She moved to Los Angeles that same year, which was documented in season 4 of “Vanderpump Rules.” The two went through many ups and downs in their relationship but overcame it all. Taylor officially popped the question in June 2018 and the two married a year later. In April 2021, they welcomed their son Cruz.

However, the couple officially announced their separation in February 2024, and she filed for divorce a few months later. It’s been a very public breakup, and Taylor spoke about where things stand today.

“That’s a great question, I would like to know that,” Taylor responded. “It’s day by day right now. We were together for 10 years, married for almost five. So there’s a lot there. Trying to work past this and get to a common ground is my go al.”

Jax Taylor Talks About Co-Parenting With Brittany Cartwright

Taylor and Cartwright are working on co-parenting.

“Schedules right now are tough because we’re both very busy, both got a lot going on,” Taylor explained to E! News on February 19. “Once we get that figured out, I think it will be great. I live literally five minutes from her, so we try to help each other out as much as we can. I try to help her out as much as I can. I do as much as I can do, as much as she allows me.”

Brittany also spoke about this during the Feb. 7 episode of her podcast, “When Reality Hits.”

“So co-parenting can be extremely hard,” she said. “It’s hard to give your child away and you’re used to being with them 100 percent of the time, and it can be difficult. But Jax loves his son, he does. It’s just big personality.”

“So it doesn’t always go as easy as I would like for it to, but we are trying so hard to get better at it,” she added. We’re really, really trying to push through. I think that Jax is working a lot harder now than he was within the past two months. I think within the past couple of weeks, he’s really trying to step up and be better. And I’m hoping it continues on that way. I’m always just waiting for things to crash because that’s just been my life lately and it sucks to feel that way… We’re just trying our best to do the best that we can.”

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright Will Both Star in ‘The Valley’ Season 2

“Jax and I are still co-parenting, and then all hell broke loose.”

That’s what Cartwright says in “The Valley” promo video that Bravo posted in February to tease season 2.

The couple are both returning for the show’s second season despite their separation, and that is expected to be a major storyline.

There is no direct release date for the second season, but Bravo teased that it is “coming soon.”
