Vanderpump Villa Season 2: Why Stassi Schroeder Is the MVP

Vanderpump Villa leveled up for Season 2. Lisa Vanderpump brought a staff of 18 people to the gorgeous Castello Rosato. The 12th-century castle was located just below Orvieto, Italy. The staff was prepared to pamper the guests and make sure they enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Of course, Lisa demands perfection and insists that no business from the back of the house taints the guests’ experience.

Plus, Lisa was offering a $30,000 bonus to the most extraordinary staff member. Along with that was the offer of a position in one of Lisa’s establishments. However, Lisa can’t spend all of her time supervising the staff. And let’s face it, this group is all about drama and toxic romances.

So, Lisa brought in a blast from the past who is familiar with both of those topics to keep a watchful eye on the cast. Vanderpump Rules alum Stassi Schroeder journeyed to Italy for the summer with her husband, Beau Clark, and their daughter, Hartford, and son, Messer. From her chats with Lisa to her Italian adventures with Beau and interactions with the staff, it didn’t take long for Stassi to establish herself as the MVP of Season 2.

When Lisa told Stassi that she would be “snooping” on the staff, she was excited. We also learned some more about Stassi. Beau has his Italian citizenship, so Stassi needs to speak Italian so that she can get hers. Their goal is to spend several months out of the year in Italy with their family. To speak Italian, Stassi would need to practice, but she slacked a bit at the beginning of the summer.

During one of the nightcap events, during a game of “drink or dare,” the couple had to reveal the wildest place they had ever had sex. Finally, Stassi remembered and announced it was in the ball pit after Hartford’s first birthday. WOW … and eww!

Meanwhile, Stassi lives on goat cheese balls and Aperol Spritzes, which sounds incredibly healthy. For Stassi’s big birthday celebration, she wanted to learn to make goat cheese balls.

“Stassi wanted to come in the kitchen to learn, and because it is f*cking Stassi’s birthday, like I couldn’t refuse,” Chef Anthony Bar said. His main rule was that no one was allowed in the kitchen except for kitchen staff. Still, Stassi practiced and made her own batch of goat cheese balls.

During Stassi’s extravagant birthday dinner, she was crowned with a multi-colored, sparkling tiara. “This is by far my favorite birthday, and it’s not my birthday,” Stassi admitted in her confessional. And, yes, Lisa also remembered that it wasn’t Stassi’s birthday.

One moment that captured how much Stassi has changed was seeing her interact with her daughter, Hartford. They were dressed in dresses, dancing and twirling on the patio in the rain. She seems very different than the young woman arguing with ex-boyfriend Jax Taylor and running with the Witches of WeHo.

Being around the Vanderpump Villa cast brought back memories for Stassi. She “feels 16% triggered around this staff.” One night, Stassi was awakened by servers Hannah Fouch and Marciano Brunette arguing by the pool. The exes gave Stassi a case of Pump Rules “PTSD.” Since Stassi couldn’t sleep, she walked around the castle, marveling that none of the staff was in bed at 3:15 a.m.

Later, Stassi spoke to Hannah alone about her relationship with Marciano. Even though Marciano cheated and knocked down her confidence, Hannah still loves him. So, Stassi gave Hannah a pep talk and gave her a task to complete. She wanted Hannah to make a friend in the castle.

However, the next time Stassi tried to help a Vanderpump Villa staff member, it didn’t go as well. Server Aidan McHugh was called out for not pitching in to help and not working hard when he was on shift. Stassi was having a drink one evening and saw Aidan outside, crying. He is an “empath” and is having trouble connecting with people.

“Everyone else is taking this job so seriously, and this is their life. This isn’t yours,” she told Aidan. Then she pointed out that others were tired of doing the server’s share of the workload. Yet, Aidan refused to acknowledge Stassi’s comments.

Finally, Stassi drilled down. “You chose to come here, and serve, and so, you gotta do it,” Stassi said. “Or you gotta go.” If you remember Stassi’s Pump Rules work ethic, or lack thereof, this comment was wild. In the end, because of Aidan’s strange responses, Stassi had to tell Lisa about their conversation. And Lisa decided to fire Aidan.

VPR viewers will recall that nothing went well for Stassi during her birthdays. While Stassi enjoyed nothing more than a day to celebrate her, she always had a birthday meltdown. And her birthday at the castle was drama-filled. Hopefully, Stassi listed her “dark passenger” as her plus one for her birthday dinners.

Georgi, Stassi’s sister, made the trip, as did Beau’s sister, Georgia. And Stassi wasn’t happy about how Beau always puts his sister’s needs first. “Listen, this weekend is my birthday. I need my husband to have my back. I need to come before everyone else,” Stassi said in her confessional. “It’s like birthday rules.”

During her La Dolce Vita dinner, Stassi pointed out that Beau and Georgia got each other’s names tattooed on their bodies, but that Beau won’t get Stassi’s name. “You can’t have your sister’s [name] on your arm, and not your wife and the mother of your children. Sorry, that’s f*cking weird,” Stassi announced to her guests.

Later, at the bar, Stassi told Beau that she was supposed to come first. “It’s because you know I’m not going anywhere. You feel safe with me,” Stassi stated. “I can make you feel unsafe.” Welp, that was Beau’s cue to leave. The couple made up the next morning, and the rest of the weekend was all about Stassi and her faux birthday.

Lisa Vanderpump’s relationship with Stassi in Vanderpump Villa Season 2 is fascinating

Watching Lisa and Stassi chat was hilarious. Stassi still can’t cook. “I want to know how to do all of the stereotypical things that come with, like being a mom and a wife,” Stassi said, before adding she doesn’t want to do it all the time. Meanwhile, Lisa noted, “Stassi doesn’t know her butthole from breakfast time when it comes to cooking.”

So, when Stassi approached Lisa about making the staff dinner, Lisa was shocked. However, when Stassi explained how she intended to give each staff member one goat cheese ball as an appetizer, Lisa started chuckling. She noted it was a “very sweet sentiment.”

Of course, cook Dominic DeAngelis did most of the cooking, since he was trying to apologize to the cast. However, Stassi came up with her own sauce for the goat cheese balls, and told the group about the McStassi salad, pasta, and pizza. It went well, much to Stassi’s relief.

“It’s so funny, because Stassi used to be such a pain in my ass, and I’m not saying she’s not still a pain in my ass,” Lisa said, “but I have to say I’ve been impressed by Stassi’s attitude. She seems calmer. And yes, she made mistakes when she was younger, but that was then and this is now,” she added.

Adding Stassi to the cast for Season 2 of Vanderpump Villa showcased an interesting dynamic between Stassi and the staff. It was also fun to see the playful relationship and affection between Stassi and Lisa. Plus, Stassi’s witty confessionals injected a dose of humor into the show, cementing her MVP status.

Vanderpump Villa is available to stream on Hulu.
