Ally Lewber Reveals If She Will Ever Get Back Together With James Kennedy
After three years together, Ally Lewber ended her relationship with “Vanderpump Rules” star James Kennedy after he was arrested for domestic violence. A month after the arrest, Kennedy revealed that he was sober and had been attending Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings.
With the changes he is making, Nick Viall asked Lewber on “The Vial Files” if she would ever consider getting back together with Kennedy. Lewber expressed that while she will always love and support him, it’s time for her to move on.
“I honestly do have so much love for James that I want him to genuinely heal and get better and I want him to find love. I really do,” Lewber said. “And I don’t think that will be with me. I feel like there’s just been too much that’s gone down. I think I would always be on edge or wondering what if.”
“And it’s hard because I’d love to support him and do that, but I just can’t,” she added. “I haven’t really thought about this to be honest.”
Ally Lewber Said She Was ‘Happy’ That James Kennedy Did Not Facing Criminal Charges
In December 2024, Burbank police took Kennedy into custody on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic violence, per TMZ. However, in January, his lawyer announced that “no charges will be filed against James Kennedy,” in a statement to CNN.
Following the news, Lewber posted on her Instagram story, expressing that she was “happy” Kennedy would not face criminal charges.
“I am happy that prosecutors decided not to file James, as I never desired criminal charges,” Lewber wrote. “We had an argument outside of his home related to him drinking again, however, I was not physically hurt. I was shocked by the headlines and disheartened by how the event was portrayed.”
“We are no longer together, but I will always support James and wish him the best with his sobriety and healing,” Lewber added.
Lisa Vanderpump Tried to Convince Ally Lewber to Stay With James Kennedy After His Arrest
During her time on the “Viall Files” podcast that aired on April 9, Lewber also revealed that Lisa Vanderpump reached out to her following Kennedy’s arrest. While she did check in to see how Lewber was doing, Vanderpump also tried to convince her to stay with him.
“She called me, and she did make sure, like, ‘Are you OK?’ I mean, this was, like, two months later, but she called and made sure… maybe a month? I don’t know. Certainly not the next day,” Lewber said on the podcast. “But she called and checked in on me.”
“She’s very protective over James,” she added. “And I get it because I was too for a long time.”
Lewber detailed exactly what Vanderpump said to try and get her to stay with Kennedy.
“She was basically like, ‘Ally, he needs you. You’re really good together,” Lewber recalled. “She was like, ‘You should go travel with him to his [DJ] shows this weekend.’ I’m like, ‘First of all, what shows? He’s canceled right now. And also, no? I just moved into an apartment. We’re not together.’”
“It was really weird because, on the call, I was weak in the moment,” she continued. However, after asking herself if she “made the wrong decision” by breaking up with him, she spoke to her friends who confirmed that she did the right thing.
